Aunt Kiki 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Hello Everyone! I had my lap band surgery on April 2, 2008 by Dr. LePort in Fountain Valley, California. I came upon this site and thought it could help to join a community of people who have had or are going to have this surgery. It was a decision that took a long time to decide upon, but once I did (and after the two & a half years of fighting my insurance) I was excited about getting healthy! I am trying my best to look at the whole picture and not on the little obstacles I am having. I have already lost 13 pounds, so I am excited about my progress so far. I would love to get to know more people in the same boat as me. And I am more than willing to answer questions anyone may have. I know I'm not too far on this road yet, but whatever I can do to help someone would be my pleasure. Good luck to everyone!
Lori Ann 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Welcome to bandland. You are off to a great start and you have found a forum with a lot of experienced bandsters here. I lived on this sight before and after I received my band. I got support here and answers that I couldn't even get from the doctor.....you just can't buy experience.....I love my doctor, but I come here for support and help. The people on this sight are absolutely wonderful....nurses that have a wealth of knowledge to share that are banded. Anyway, welcome and if I can do anything to help you...please let me know. I was banded on May 24, 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia. Good Luck on your exciting journey.
jnbwilds 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Welcome to the forum. It is wonderful to have a group of people who have followed the same journey! I'd start with the month of surgery support groups - look for April 2008. It's always great to be able to chat with people who are in the same stage as you are.
