Manhattan Fill Doctors or Fill Center USA Training?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I recently moved from Australia to New York. I have been banded almost 2 years and am wayyyyy overdue for a fill, and generally need to have the band's condition looked at (I havent lost weight recently at all)

Two questions:

a) Does anyone know any reliable fill doctors in Manhattan who might accept foreign patients/patients banded elsewhere.

 Does anyone have any experience with Fill Doctors USA who can shed some light on whether seeing them is a good idea? Also, insight on whether it might be a good idea to visit the new center "under training" in Manhattan would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Ooooops. Can a moderator move this to the fill doctor section? I'm sorry.

hi teee.... try dr. fielding at new york university. he's an aussie and i've heard rumor that he'll perform fills on folks we didn't operate on. also, try dr. mitchell roslin at lennox hill hospital. he was my surgeon and i'm sure he's also helped folks who didn't start out as his patients. good luck!

I was banded in MX and am going to NYU for a fill next week. Fielding, Ren and Kurian take patients banded elsewhere.

Dear Teee: I'm responding to your post of 4/10/08. It was awhile ago, but I came across it when I was surfing the site. Were you ever able to find a fill doctor in Manhattan? If so, could you let me know who? I need a Manhattan fill doctor also. Thanks. ilene62

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
