kathystrick 3 Posted April 10, 2008 (edited) I just logged on to my primary insurance website. No idea why, because I never use it, but just did. Anyway, I clicked on the tab for preauthorizations and it showed my LB has already been submitted to them and denied (which I knew it would be, they don't cover it). I am so excited!! That means they are in the submittal process and I should know something in the next couple of weeks! I didn't even know I had gotten that far in the process! I mean, I figured I was close, but haven't even met the doctor yet (will tomorrow). Oh wow! I am just babbling and really have no reason to be this excited! I just feel like if they are going to the trouble to do the insurance submissions, I should be getting a date soon. YIPPEE!!!! :w00t: Edited April 10, 2008 by kathystrick misspelled words

kathystrick 3 Posted April 11, 2008 Well, I knew I would be denied by that insurance because WLS is excluded in my policy. But they had to submit to them because that is my primary insurance before they could submit to the plan that will cover it. So that denial really is a sort of progress. Especially when I didn't even know it had been submitted. :scared2:

pennyt 14 Posted April 13, 2008 Wonderful! Will your primary insurance cover any of the associated costs, since you have dual coverage and your secondary is paying for the surgery?

kathystrick 3 Posted April 13, 2008 Wonderful! Will your primary insurance cover any of the associated costs, since you have dual coverage and your secondary is paying for the surgery? Nope! They even called me to make sure I knew that our policy has a total exclusion for anything to do with the surgery. The hospital just totally disregarded that insurance and only filed to my secondary because of that. They said it was possible that they would pay for my testing then come back on me when the submittal for the surgery was made and they realized the testing was associated with WLS. I assume they know what they are talking about...:confused2:
