Fed_Cop 0 Posted April 10, 2008 Hello Everyone! The doctor office called today and informed me they had received approval for my surgery. She stated once she receive my approval code (Clueless) she will call me back and set up my consultation in a couple of days. Although I'm excited I still feel like I'm so close to having the band but yet so far from having it. I decided I would now start preparing myself for it. Any suggestions are more then welcome. Thanks for listening!
SpecialK 22 Posted April 10, 2008 Well you've definitely gotten over the highest hurdle if your doctor has your Insurance approval!!! You should be doing a dance of celebration. Your surgeon's office should be calling you to schedule you a surgery date and then pre-admission testing about a week before that, and BOOM -- you're in bandster land! Fed_Cop 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Hi SpecialK! Thank you for replying. I knew my insurance would approve it but just hearing them tell the doctor somehow made a big difference to me. The doctor that performs the lap band is very popular here so I'm hoping I can get in this month. I am indeed very excited. How are things going for you now that you have the band? kathystrick 3 Posted April 12, 2008 You have definitely already passed the test most of us live in fear of - attaining insurance approval! Now that they have that, they will probably get all of your pre-op tests done pretty quickly. With no comorbidities, I had everything except my psych eval done in one day! Now, you should probably start by asking your doctor what his post-op diet restrictions are and stocking up on supplies. There is an excellent thread here: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f218/first-few-weeks-after-lap-band-surgery-58227/ you might want to check out too. Good luck to you and keep us posted on how you are doing.
jackiepeebs 0 Posted April 12, 2008 My name is Jackie and I had my band done this past Thursday by Dr. Douglas Krahn from St. Bernardines Hospital. Still really sore, but I am home now to start the journey.
