Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted April 10, 2008 You are wanting to lose about the same amount of weight that I needed to lose. I am very happy with the band. I didn't lose every single week like some people, but I never thought I would ever be a size 12 again. There is an over 50's thread and we are all very supportive of each other. You could introduce yourself there too and everyone will be glad to share their experiences.

3m'smom 0 Posted April 10, 2008 Hi, I am also new to this site, actually the very first blog/forum I have ever responded to. I love this site and read it every day. I am waiting for the April 29th seminar before I can proceed with the band, I have found out that bcbs federal pays better than most insurance, and I do meet their qualifications, I am 5 ft tall and weigh 205 pds with high blood pressure. So hopefully by June I will be in "bandland" Has anyone else had bcbs federal insurance and gotten the band, leave me some details and info if you have. thanks, robyn

More people will respond to you if you have your own thread.
cathyalmond 1 Posted April 11, 2008 I have my first surgical consult on April 16th with the surgeon for lapband, I have read the message on this forum and the OCC forum and although it's not easy, but neither is any diet...but so worth it for extensive weight loss. I have been researching and reading everything insight and I am sure this is what I want. I have been over 200 lbs for quite awhile and have dieted all my life, so I need more than Weight Watchers, I need a life style change. I also bought a great book "Lapband for Life". You can find it on Amazon.com...it's amazing and contains everything you would ever need to know or want to know. Best of luck with your decision. If you have any questions, just ask!
