My progress pics.

Recommended Posts

Obviously I'm the photographer in my family, so try to overlook the image quality here. lol

The first one was when my neighbor and I started WW. The middle one was taken just before starting my preop diet on Jan 31st. The last one was taken this morning.

No, I'm not angry, just light eyed and it was sunny. Don't look at my angry face, just look at my 2 size smaller jeans. LOL

My necklace seems to be getting longer and I may or may not be in a shirt style rut. ;)

I've still got a long way to go, but it's nice to be able to see some changes!

You look great! You can especially tell in your face that you have lost a lot. It's nice to wear smaller clothes isn't it.

You just need to put smaller clothes ON, Jaime! Then you'll be able to tell. You can't see a thing if you're swimming in stuff!

Thanks for the comments, everyone. It's nice to see a small change, even though I still have a long way to go! At least I know it's working!

LOL I was trying things on last night and got so mad. Most of my stuff in the next size down is too tight, but the bigger stuff is too big. WTH? I found one pair of jeans that fit just right and they had no button. I had to do button surgery this morning before work.

I think you're right though. I took my one month pics in the same shirt as my pre-surgery pics, and it is way too big now. I think I'll take my next pics in a shirt that actually fits and see how it comes out.

You're looking great Angie! Keep up the awesome work! You mentioned that "your necklace seems to be getting longer" and it really does look that way, lol. Doesn't that feel good! You look great all over, and indeed younger! I don't think I'd be brave enough to get pictures of myself yet . . . maybe when I lose another 20 pounds ^_^

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
