pati-o 6 Posted March 29, 2005 Ok, am I the only one who is the slowest loser in the world? I've exercised AT LEAST 4-5 days per week for the past 3+ weeks, had two fills in that time period, have eaten no MORE then 1200 calories a day Max. (and that was easter) and my average calories are around 1000 per day. I drink a TON too. Am I the the SLOWEST loser in the world or what??? I'm happy with what I've lost, but I wish these Lbs. would just GO AWAY already!!!
Alexandra 55 Posted March 29, 2005 Pati, you are doing GREAT!! First of all, you have a total to lose of only 65 lbs, so there's no question it's going to come off slower. You just don't have that far to go! Second, you've lost 23 lbs in about 12 weeks--that's about 2 lbs a week or, in other words, EXACTLY what you want to be losing. Also, if you're exercising you probably are adding muscle to your frame, which translates to being heavier. The numbers LIE, girl! You're losing body fat and trimming and toning by all that exercise. Can you feel it in your clothes? Your stamina? Your energy level? CHILL! You're doing wonderfully and in another few months you will wonder what you were worried about. paula 4 Posted March 29, 2005 Hang in there Pati... these pounds didnt get on us overnight - nor will they leave us over night! Im a slow loser too! But I try to focus on my permanent change of eating habits instead of losing weight (easier said then done). One thing I have noticed is that when Im not losing weight, Im losing inches... you may be the same way. Good luck!
Staci 2 Posted March 29, 2005 Hi Pati, Im having the very same problem. Ive been stuck at the same weight loss that seems like forever now! Im like you in that Ive tried evrything and still STUCK! Whats confusing to me is the fact that Im eating so much less and doing so much more, but yet nothing lost...go figure. Staci Orlando FL banded in Mexico 12/14/04 It isn't the mountain that wears you out; its the grain of sand in your shoe.
Chicagoboy 0 Posted March 29, 2005 Just think what it would have been like to lose weight if you did not have the band? It tells me the band was the best chance for weight loss. Relax let the band help you do the work a year form now you'll be happy enjoy the ride.
SHAZ 0 Posted March 29, 2005 I can relate to this problem. I just figured it must be my age. However, it is VERY frustrating!!!! After all the trouble, I guess I expected it to come off faster. I hope I am slim by summer. Oh well, at least I'm losing, just slowly.
kellymoos 4 Posted March 29, 2005 YES!!! I am a slow loser...I have lost 65 lbs since August of 03 with 20 lbs to go!
Mariposa Bella 3 Posted March 29, 2005 I am totally with you on this one, especially because the weight that had come off came off fairly quickly in the first month 1/2, and then nothing, I had even gained 5 of the 23 lbs I had lost, I felt horrible. But I have to be honest I thought the weight would have come off sooner than it has, because I kept seeing how some people on this board lose 50-60 lbs so fast, I thought I would surely be at my goal weight in no time, BIG MISTAKE> I have had three fills and I think this last one is the charmer, I had it on the 16ht and I have already lost 7lbs, but 5 of that is weight that I had put back on, but hopefully I am on my way. It is very frustrating though that it is this slow.
Esmeralda 2 Posted March 29, 2005 I was also banded on 01/07/05 and I have only lost 16 pounds. I had my first fill on 02/17/05 and went from 230 to 227 (the first week of my fill I lost 3 pounds) ever since I am stuck and I also get hungry sooner. I feel no restriction!! I thought I was the only one is this world with this problem but I guess not. I started tracking my food intake on fitday.com and oh my gosh I was having between 1400 - 1600 calories a day so I started to change what I eat this week to see if it helps (I am not really eatng bad foods its the quantity). marsha 0 Posted March 29, 2005 I've been banded over a year and only 39lbs down! Now, that's what you call slow!
leatha_g 4 Posted March 30, 2005 75lbs in 22 months... hmm, wonder where I would be without the band??
live2canoe 1 Posted March 31, 2005 Holy Cow !! It's taken me SIX months to lose 25 pounds!! If you ask me, you're doing GREAT!
sheeanisland 0 Posted March 31, 2005 Well this makes me feel better that I am not the only one. I have only lost 40 lbs but I thought I would have been up around 60 by now. But I am still pb alot so I dont know if I should get a fill or not. Its hard cause I cant really eat meat so I find myself eating things that I think will go down but not always the best choices. I must say I eat chips to much. But at least were not gaining cause I was on a steady incline pre-surgery days. I eat whatever I want if it goes down. First time in my life im not eating lowfat, that I like. We will get where we need to be remember slow and steady wins the race. I dont really feel deprived so thats a good thing! bobby_hamrick 0 Posted March 31, 2005 I have a vigorous excercise routine and I can take some blame for diet. 222 now! 276 before 08/03. Its getting on off.
Marimaru 7 Posted March 31, 2005 I'm down about 45 lbs (depending on what day it is). I also have been feeling down about it. It's not so much the "slow loss" but that I've been stuck for quite a while. I started exersizing over a month ago (walking), and now I walk 2 miles a day at about 3 miles per hour, and yesterday I ran part of it. I lost 2 inches at my widest point in the last 10 days or so, so I know something is happening. Take your measurements if you haven't! I didn't when I had my surgery and I've been kicking myself for it. I took them about a week and a half ago for the first time, and then again a couple days ago and there was already a difference.
