My surgery is on May 13th, I started my Optifast liquid diet on Tuesday for the so I'm excited and a little scared.

I am so excited for all of us May Banders!!!!! I am fortunate enough to be using a doctor that does not require the pre-surgery liquid diet just low carb/high Protein. If I could do the liquid diet without the band chances would be that I wouldn't be doing the surgery.

I had my banding 3/18 and the doctor made me fast on Liquid Protein

for 10 days before to reduce my liver size. He said its easier to get the band on if your liver is smaller. The only thing it really did for me was to make it easier for the post surgery fasting.

Once I was in the process of getting the surgery. I stopped drinking soda and have lost the weight but it has been months and I go up and down anyway.
