Just Curious..how.....

Recommended Posts

How much weight are you loosing per week? how about per month? at first, my doctor told me he wanted me to lose more than 2 pounds a week. of course, i had to set him straight cause he was very consertivie with the fills and i knew better. i know that one can expect 1 to 2 pounds of weight loss per week with the band and after he finally gave me my 2nd fill, i started loosing 2 pounds a week. so i was just curious about others. is the band working for you and what are you doing to help the band work? i do cardio 3 times a week (20 mins at a time) and i walk 4 days a week (1 hour brisk walking0. i have also changed my eating habits.

I was losing 3 lbs a week but now that has slowed to 1 to 2 lbs per week. I do cardio 6 days a week for 1-2 hours each day. I also weight train 3 days a week for 45 minutes.

In 6 months I have lost 34 pounds, so basically a pound a week with very little effort. I am starting to exercise in hopes of speeding things up.

I lose about 8-10 pounds a month... but I typically have 2 weeks a month that I don't lose anything and 2 weeks that I lose a bit nearly every day. I'm happy with 6-8 pounds a month. However, toward the end of my 2 week no-loss period I start to doubt myself and worry that the weight will never come off again. :-)

My only exercise at this time is 30-60 minutes of walking 3 days a week on average

Out of the almost 7 weeks I've been banded I've only felt restriction 2 of those weeks. During those two weeks I lost like 4-7 pounds each week. On the off weeks I've lost like 2-3 pounds a week. There was two weeks where I lost nothing... but gained nothing either... I just got my second fill yesterday, but it felt pointless to me as it gave me no restriction whatsoever.. and I can't get another fill until May, so it looks like my weightloss will be slowing down for the next 4 weeks and I will be happy just to lose 1 pound a week as I'll be doing this on my own now. :-( Very frustrating. As for working out; I work out every single day. Even on Sundays.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
