Banded 3-24-08 23 pounds gone!

Recommended Posts

Of course, the 23 pounds didn't come off since 3-24! I started my liquid stage on 3-10-08 and since then I have lost 23 pounds and only 57 to go! It hasn't been nearly as difficult as I had anticipated. My doctor should clear me tomorrow to start excercising again (besides just walking). I've had my moments, but when I know I can't physically ingest something, it isn't that hard to stay away from it. I haven't been participating on the board since the surgery. I've actually been trying to get my head around this entire thing. To top it off, while I was in recovery, I got a call from my department and found out I had landed my dream job! I had been trying to get into this unit for years! And there it was! Wow! What a day. I did have to stay in the hospital for the night because I couldn't pee (sorry) on my own, but other than that everything was fine. Thank God for SF/FF jello! I do miss sodas, but it's worth the pay off. I go for my follow up tomorrow! Hope all is well with everyone!:) I can't figure out how to work my ticker! I don't know what my PIN is!

Wow we are very close! I hand my band on 3/25. Couldn't pee after surgery (Had a catheter for two days) have lost a total of 35 pds. 20 pre op and 15 post op. Already have my dream job! Glad things are going so well for you. My first fill will be a week from Friday.

I was banded on 3/28/08, and my doctor didn't require any pre-op dieting. I have now lost 12 pounds since 3/28 (12 days). I have 48 pounds to go to reach my goal of a 60 pound weight loss. Is this quick initial weight loss expected? I have not eaten much--some days no more that 300 or 400 calories. I know that I can't maintain that.

Will get easier and easier with fills.

nice. I did the same thing after i was banded- but after the healing - I regained some of the weight back... what a loss... I said to myself that I will loose once I get my band tightened. I have so far had two band fills --- and NO RESTRICTION .... I am loosing a pound a week or even half which is rather slow.

So UNTIL the restriction thing get to me, I will up my exercise and diet like hell - which in a way defeats the whole thing around getting banded. I cant get full on half a cup --- so I am eating more that a cup of food at a time, but I am doing a variation of the South Beach diet............ UNTIL I UNDERSTANDS WHAT EVERYBODY ELSE SAYS ABOUT RESTRICTION --- I continue feeling like the whole surgery was a waste of time.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
