My Pre-op Testing is complete! I am so anxious for all the results to be in so I can have my appointment with my surgeon!!! :glare:

I am sooooooooo ready to get started with the whole thing.

I have PCOS and this is the sure cure for all those horribly disgusting side effects. (Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome) :sigh:

I also suffer from GERD and this will surely cure that as well!

I'm going to feel like a whole new person...:)

Anyone have any ideas for Pre-Op liquid diet? I've already started to buy Slim-Fast, but I know I'll be starving! I love Jell-o and drink broth often- is that all there is to drink? I'm so lost and cannot even begin to think outside the box on this...

Maybe I'll be a May Flower??? How exciting!!! WOOHOooooo

P.S. I'm going to Mexico April 2009- I'm going to wear a BATHING SUIT instead of shorts and a t-shirt in the pool!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there! I also have PCOS and my surgery is scheduled for Monday (the 14th!!) Can't wait!! My doc did say that some of the issues with PCOS are hopefully going to disappear, but some of the effects may stay (hair growth and acne). But you know what? I'm just so excited to get this done that I'm not even worried about that stuff anymore! Good luck!!

Congrats on finishing up the pre-op testing!! It won't be long for you now! I see my nurse in two weeks and she will schedule all of my tests so I can see the surgeon. I can't wait.

Like you I have PCOS and am so excited to FINALLY have some sort of solution/help with these symptoms!

Best of luck to you!

I think I'm going to post a PCOS Thread...

Too many of us have it and I would love to learn how the symptoms are being handled post-surgery!

I really am anxious to see what happens...

Thank you for all the support! I love these threads. They are really helping me along...

Yes the pre=opt diet does have SF Jello, SF popcicles, broth, slim fast..Mine also has egg drop Soup if you like it..Now I can have anything that is clear. I am on my 8th day of liquid and I already lost 16 pounds. Yes you will feel hungery the first couple of days, but after awhile you will get the hang of it and you are going to do well on it. But believe me, you love Jello just like me, and Well I am sick of it already. But it's worth it..Congratulations on becoming the first steps of banding. Hope everything goes well for you..Good Luck. My surgery is on Monday. Can't wait..I too have PCOS!!

Take care!

Kristy

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
