Actually, I DON'T care about people's grammar, spelling, etc. At all. Not in the SLIGHTEST.

It was a JOKE. JOKE

That some people didn't "get".

Beth did, 'cause Beth gets stuff!

And as far as the "Queen's English", since when did Elton John get his OWN language?

HH

I think it was passed on to him after Freddie Mercury died. :smile2:

Fanny I asked my daughter about your spelling and she said that it was correct if you were in England, which I'm sure is what you meant by the Queen's English. I am constantly bugging my daughter how to spell words and she'll first ask me if I'm in England or the US. She's a linguistics major and it really pisses me off!!!! Nancy of da north

Ooops. Please allow me to correct that. If I win the Opossum/donkey show....And was it really necessary to capitalize NEVER?? And, I'll touch your Queen any old time I want. If I ever get my passport back again that is. Don't ask, don't tell, my friend. Airport security was very curious about the contents of MY purse :smile2:...

TPG

There you go again. There are only two o's in oops; yes, it was entirely necessary to capitalise NEVER; you have started not one but TWO sentences with "And"; and you'll touch the Queen at your own risk!! Be warned, the penalty is quite severe - you could be subjected to a very stern letter to the The Times  and, believe me, you wouldn't want to risk that!!

What an improper question! One should know that one never reveals the contents of one's Queen's purse! The very idea!! :smile2: Just for your information, one should also know that one NEVER lays hands upon one's Queen - a lesson that, sadly, TWO of our Prime Ministers failed to learn...sigh... Still, while we might also be rude and ignorant colonials like our American cousins, AT LEAST WE CAN SPELL!! :(:unsure:

If one never lays hands upon one's Queen, then how does one get one's heirs...the princes, the princesses? Inquiring monkeys wonder just what lays what on what to effect that process.

Meaning, of course, no disrespect to Her Majesty.

I'm in Australia, Nanook, and we still use the English spellings for most things. It's quite odd really - if you look in an Australian dictionary, half the time it will list both the US and UK spellings and say that either is acceptable. However, amongst the older generations (of which, sadly, I am a member) using US spellings is very much frowned upon. It's also always great for a laugh to tease Americans about their spelling . It's almost as much fun as calling a Southerner a "Yank" and then pretending ignorance of the difference *whistles innocently* :smile2:

And, does the Queen have a lap band? Ooooops, hope I'm wrong there. I do not care for newspapers. I watch TV for all my information. And I believe whatever I read. And Monkey agrees with me.

Hmph! If one must ask such a vulgar question, one should be advised that the process is qute refined. Her Majesty simply lies back and thinks of England and the deed is done!

Okay, wait. Plain's a queen and I know EXACTLY what he has in his purse. He has an autographed photo of Tim Curry from Rocky Horror (in full drag, of course, duh), a squirt gun, tickets to a roller derby from 1988, and a Barbie doll sans head but with some VERY peculiar markings and scratches in the pubic area.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
