My writing is correct. What is your profession? It is certainly

a big reflection on your lack of education!:tt2:

"What is your profession? It is certainly

a big reflection on your lack of education!"

And how is my PROFESSION a "reflection" on my "lack of education"?

That makes no sense at all. You really need to re-structure that sentence. Very, Very poor.

My writing is correct.

Actually, it wasn't.

And I'm sure you can find thousands more threads here that won't offend your sensibilities. Happy hunting!

Hi, Moiola;

Welcome to the Lap Band Forum!

I SO agree with you about the pickiness of some people here.

However…..there are a couple of things I’d like to mention:

First, where you said “run on sentences”, it really SHOULD be articulated as “run-on” sentences. Also, with regard to our attitude towards writing style, the appropriate word would be “critical”, and not “discriminating”, as you put it.

And finally, your final word, “content”, is followed by a period. You have placed TWO spaces between the word “content” and the period. ONE space would actually be quite sufficient.

Thanks for your observations, and we’ll be looking for your next comment Real Soon Now!

Well now, HH, for someone pointing out the grammatical deficiencies in someone else's posts, you certainly don't appear to be perfect in this regard. To begin with, an ellipsis has only 3 dots, not the 5 you have used. Secondly, the phrase "real soon now", whilst being popular American slang, is neither a correct use of the word "real" (it should be "really") nor does it require capitalisation of each word. This point also applies to the capitalisation of the second "very" in your last sentence. Finally, the correct spelling is "restructure" - the hyphen is unnecessary.:smile2::unsure:

Who really cares about this whole subject - IMHO there are more important matters than spelling - being grammatically correct and punctuation - this is lbt not a college class on writing skills.. As long as you get your point across in a post - that's all that matters..

If pple don't like how you write they don't have to read it..

HEY! YOU spell stuff like "capitalisation" with an "s" and not a "z"! What do you YOU know? *she said tongue in cheek then ducks for her ever-lovin' life* :(

Indeed I do!! That is because I speak and spell the Queen's English, unlike my American cousins across the Water, who speak and spell AMERICAN, not English! So yeah, you had better duck and right quickly too, girlie!! *throws U's at you*

Fanny,

Maybe you can answer my question. Exactly what does the Queen keep in that ugly little purse? I NEED to know. Beth and I are bored and have no more wine. We are planning a scavenger hunt and I'm sure 'ol Liz has some good stuff stuffed in there. Thanks! If I win the possum/donkey show, I'll remember you!!

What an improper question! One should know that one never reveals the contents of one's Queen's purse! The very idea!! :smile2: Just for your information, one should also know that one NEVER lays hands upon one's Queen - a lesson that, sadly, TWO of our Prime Ministers failed to learn...sigh... Still, while we might also be rude and ignorant colonials like our American cousins, AT LEAST WE CAN SPELL!! :(:unsure:

Actually, I DON'T care about people's grammar, spelling, etc. At all. Not in the SLIGHTEST.

It was a JOKE. JOKE

That some people didn't "get".

Beth did, 'cause Beth gets stuff!

And as far as the "Queen's English", since when did Elton John get his OWN language?

:smile2:

Ooops. Please allow me to correct that. If I win the Opossum/donkey show....And was it really necessary to capitalize NEVER?? And, I'll touch your Queen any old time I want. If I ever get my passport back again that is. Don't ask, don't tell, my friend. Airport security was very curious about the contents of MY purse ...

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
