a_bit_pink 0 Posted March 28, 2005 Hi! I'm 2 weeks post band - how long does the liquid stage last for? My doctor has advised me for 4 weeks - then the 5th week i start on mushy foods - and on the 7th week i can have solids. Isn't that a bit too long?? I think i am ready to have a bit of solids now - say mashed potatoes or Beans - anything soft that does not need to be blended till it's dead! pehehehe!! Thanks! princess_n_thep 2 Posted March 28, 2005 You have solid liquids for 4 weeks? geesh. I am almost one week post band. I have Clear Liquids for one week (hard as heck to do and I am soooo wanting something of substance) , creamy/yogurts/protein shakes for week 2, mushies week 3/4 and solids by week 5. And of course, lots of water/gatorade during it all. But alas, I must stick with the old lap band addage of "follow your doctors orders!". Don't worry girl, my first week is flying by.... I hope yours gets quicker too!
Jammin & Losin 1 Posted March 28, 2005 Wow!!! 4 weeks is a long time to be on liquids? ?? I am a little more than a week post op and I was only told to be on liquids 1 week then go to mushy's ect... Every Dr. is different and you should do exactly what they say. You sure don't want to mess anything up!! Good luck and hang in there.
Infaith 1 Posted March 28, 2005 I agree you need to go by your doctor's orders, but I would probably contact your doctor about your hunger. My doctor's nutritionist was great on giving me info on how to deal with hunger pangs and such. Sometimes they'll let you have something a bit early, but it's always best to check and see what that might be. Your doc must have their reasons and it helps to know.
