rkilbury 0 Posted April 7, 2008 I woke up from surgery this very strong pain on the right hand side of my stomach focusing most on the incision furthest to the right. The furthest right hand incision also causes a dimple when I stand. The pain also radiates around to my back. I am still on percicet and hydrocodone. Has anyone else experienced pain like this? Was it considered normal or abnormal?
Eiramana 0 Posted April 7, 2008 I have not had any pain like this and I was banded three days ago....I would call your doc just to be on the safe side.
smgallop 1 Posted April 7, 2008 I agree. Call the doc just to be on the safe side. However, you will have some pain at your port site. That part is not abnormal.
Gone4Now 4 Posted April 7, 2008 Call your doctor...sounds like gall stones. Have you had problems in the past with them? Either way...call the doc and keep us posted. Hope you're feeling better.
SydneyLouWho 0 Posted April 8, 2008 First of all.... talk to your doctor to be sure, but having many surgeries in my life, I have had different pains like that after surgery. I was told that you are most likely to have more pain on the side that your surgeon stands during surgery. That is the direction that they pull and put more pressure on your body because they are standing on that side. It does make a lot of sense. I hope you feel better soon.
