Reality check...

Recommended Posts

So I am going on two weeks out...slowly entering bandster hell. And here is what I am learning about myself. I am totally emotionally eating. More and more everyday. I am not hungry enough to be eating like I do. So my question is- when you start getting fills, and the more and more restriction you get, is it possible to emotional eat? As in to keep eating when you are good and full? Any advice would be very well appreciated. And please only helpful comments:biggrin:...I am beating myself up enough as it is!

I have dealt with emotional eating for a long time and I always knew I was doing it, however not so much until I started asking myself before I reached for food if I was really hungry? If not, what was really bothering me.

Do you realize when you are emotional eating? A major part of the battle is realizing that you are doing it so that you can recognize the emotion you are having.

Then you have the choice to do the "R.E.D" which is 1. "Recognize" the emotion you are having and why you are trying to stuff it with food 2. "Express" the emotion you are having by other methods (crying, journaling, talking) 3. "Direct" the emotion you are having towards the person you are having it for.

You may still eat with any of these actions, however when you start realizing that you are emotionally eating, that is half the battle so you can catch yourself. I have been doing this and it has gotten easier.
