Friendshelp40 0 Posted April 6, 2008 my name is Carla, I live on the Oregon coast. I have mobility trouble so it's hard to exercise out of the Water, but I do swim twice a week. I was banded in Mexico 4/10/07. I've had a hard time of it with this band. I'm down almost 40lbs. I have a hard time with drinking so much water. I do eat good food but not much of it. I know I'm going to beat this weight issue and be healthy someday. I will not ever give up no matter how slow I lose the pounds. Good luck to all with a healthly life. It's nice to meet you. You seem to have a lot of drive and determination, so I have no doubt you will get to your goal. You said you've had a hard time with your band, have you had any complications? Friendshelp40 0 Posted April 7, 2008 I was in a car accident and have had a long recovery. I didn't get my first fill tell 3 months after getting my band and my second was 5 months after that. My third fill was to much and I was very sick and had to have all the Fluid removed and I started over again this March. I'm on track now and I'm starting to drop my weight. Brandy~ 2 Posted April 7, 2008 Welcome! I am from Oregon as well (Eugene) I haven't been banded yet but will be here at Sacred Heart. I am sorry to hear of your complications but it sounds like you're on the right path.. In no time I am sure you will be strolling around the beach
Friendshelp40 0 Posted April 9, 2008 Thank you and good luck on your surgery. I had my lap band done in Mexico. It was very nice but the lack of english speaking hospital staff was very hard. I put all the pills they gave me in the trash because I didn't know what they were.
vsnowrn 0 Posted April 10, 2008 I not too sure about the Mexico thing. If you cannot trust the pills that they are giving you, I find it amazing you let them operate on you. Anyways hope all goes well and good luck. I intend to have my band placed in the US even if it costs more vsnowrn
Friendshelp40 0 Posted April 10, 2008 It's not that I didn't trust the hospital at all. It was very state of the art, very clean and nice at the hospital I was in. The problem was I already take meds and I didn't know if my med would be ok with the ones they gave me. My chioce to not take the pain pills was not a trust issue at all. I've had trouble in the past at home with meds not mixing well and didn't want to have trouble like that again.
