I have seen it, but share the feelings of others here about the host. I am hoping there might be some info on the website about dealing with the head hunger.

If you can get past the cheesy set/infomercial feel, it really is some good stuff.....very bandster friendly....watch your portions, eat slowly, chew, chew, chew....sound familiar?

I did get totally hoked out when he started on the pressure point thing, though.....tapping my forehead will make me NOT want to eat chips....hmmmmmmmmmmm highly unlikely.

I have it recorded and haven't watched it. I hope there is something useful in there. If you go to his website, he wants money for his books and cd's etc.

I did like the show where he had the overweight guy imagine his favorite food covered with his least favorite food plus hair and toilet scum. I thought the guy was gonna hurl when he said "OK, take one more bite" (mentally of course).

My co-worker has been watching the show and she also said his techiques are working for her.

What I don't get is when he asks someone what their level of craving is for a certain food on a scale of 1-10...the people always give him a high number. Then he has them poke at their face, sing a little song and then he asks them again and suddenly they no longer crave poptarts, or whatever....is that scientific or the power of suggestion ?

I dunno...can I just take my fork and poke my face as I'm eating the poptart ??? Just wondering.....:purplebananna:

Yeah, the tapping technique is called EFT. It's based on the art of acupuncture and is supposed to realign the mental energy etc..

I tried it when I went to a hypnotist to help me with eating. It worked to the extent that, when you are tapping yourself you are conscious of the fact that you want to reduce your craving at that moment. I really didn't think there was much else to it.

My therapist taught me EFT a few months ago. It really works. I use it almost daily on anything that is stressing me out - work, crabby husband, headache and head hunger. The pressure points are suppose to "reset" your mind so to speak. I do feel much calmer after I do the routine.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
