Hello everyone, My name is Dennis, myself and my wife were banded in Tampa, FL on April 4th. Very excited, yet still very nervous. My wife seems to be doing great, I, on the other hand, have a centralized pain at my port site, not sure if this is common or not, hope so...

I have not been banded yet, but with all that I have heard, it is normal to have pain at your port site for a while... I am confident that it will go away. Remember everyone reacts differently to surgery, keep your chin up and keep up the good work!

Hi Dennis, welcome to LBT! That is great that you and your wife have chosen to go through this journey together. What an awesome support system you will be to each other. Will she be joining us here as well?

It is common to have the area around the port to continue to be tender for quite a while. Mine was sore for several weeks after my surgery.

My husband and my parents are getting banded at the same time as I am as well.... I think it will be so much easier when we have a built in support system really 24 hours a day! good luck to you two!
