Fill costs and insurance, Is it covered?

Recommended Posts

My surgery is scheduled for April 23, 2008. I have anthem bc/bs and they have been very good covering things for me. For some reason, I haven't asked about fill costs or if insurance covers them. What has been your experience with this? Im getting panicky because I haven't ask about this until now, but I need the surgery for health reasons so if I have to pay out of pocket, so be it.

The best thing you can do is contact your insurance company. Better to get a definitive answer from them.

Anthem BC/BS covered my surgery 100%.

They have TOLD me that fills ARE covered also on two occassions. They gave me this reference number: 0207589397001.

I will be using this code with my doctor to file for my fill in two days. I will let you know how it goes.

Susan's right... every healthcare provider is different. And even within the same provider, sometimes things are changed/tweaked depending on the employer.

I have BCBS-IL, and when I asked about fills, she said as long as your surgery is covered, any post-operative care (including fills) will be covered as well. She did say that whether I'd have to pay a co-pay would depend on how they billed the procedure. Office visit? Co-pay. Outpatient? Fully covered.

Good luck!

The best advice I can tell you is to verify with your insurance company. My fills cost me $3500 over the last 18 months and just recently they were covered because my surgeon's office pushed for a gap exception since there were no in network providers.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.

Lost my Pup last month and struggled really hard for that first month. Stopped tracking intake and slid into old habits here and there. Also quit working out. Can't walk in the neighborhood because of all of the memories we shared. Losing my Pup is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever been through. My Pup was my world 💔
Talked to my doc during my one year followup and they were not worried about my current status. They know, and I know, that I will get back on track.

I'm so sorry. I lost my pup (Mr. Bitters - a chocolate Pomeranian) 2 years ago and it still makes me tear up. He was my everything - my constant companion. I understand. Do the best you can to get back on track.
