EDPACECAR 0 Posted April 5, 2008 Newbie, just signed up for seminar at Barix Clinic in Langhorne Pa. (04/23/08). Just wondering how hard is Keystone East to deal with to get approved? Any do's and don't's with this insurance? Age 57 BWI 43.
Blaze21 5 Posted April 8, 2008 I have Keystone Mercy, which is very similar to Keystone Health Plan East. I have to go through a 3 month supervised diet and exercise program. You should check with you surgeon's office, and they would be able to tell you what the process is for getting approval. Good luck with your journey.
kiah12 0 Posted April 9, 2008 Hi Ed-- I am not too sure I can help too much with insurance, but I had my surgery at the Barix clinic in Langhorne. They were fabulous with handling the insurance part of things. I gave them my insurance information after filling out the diet portion of the questionnaire, and they wrote some report and submitted to my insurance. They provided me with an insurance person who kept in touch with me via email to keep me abreast of the situation. My insurance approved me in less than two weeks, but I will say I have BCBS Personal Choice and they are excellent! In short, Barix really does the submission work for you. They will tell you if anything needs to be done. BTW, its a wonderful place and I have nothing but great things to say about them. Good luck to you!
jlobyxmas 0 Posted April 9, 2008 Hi Ed, I had Aetna when I started my lapband pursuit last year and checked with the coordinator at my surgeons office to see if it was easier to get approved through Keystone or Aetna, and she said Keystone, so I waited until open enrollment and switched to Keystone. She submitted the paperwork for me and I was approved the same day. Even though the insurance didn't ask for it I gave them 5 year dieting history, and a letter from my primary. Keystone will pay as long as it's not a restriction of your policy thru ur employer. Good Luck!!
