D + 70 Days

Recommended Posts

It has been 70 days since I had my band installation. Briefly, I have lost about 40 lbs and have another 40 to go.

The Bad part: I still want to snack in the evening, popcorn, nuts, ice cream. When I have nothing to do it gets very difficult not to snack. When I do snack, I will eat a handfull of dry roasted peanuts and then feel guilty afterwards.

Fills: I have had 3 fills now and have another one scheduled in two weeks. Although I am still in the yellow zone, if I eat slow I get full pretty quick. If I eat fast (not good) then I feel painfully stuffed. The Dr. says I am doing just fine and right on schedule.

The good part: My pants do not slide down anymore. They stay up all day with belt. I have dropped two pant sizes (46 - 42). I feel much lighter and my golf game is improving because I am not so tired when I round the 15th fairway. Blood pressure before the operation was 152/90. It is now 110/80, sometimes 110/75. Seats at the movies are roomier. In a nutshell, I am happier. My wife reads this so I will not discuss you know what!:tt1:

I was wondering about just that problem. I'mhaving a lazy day today, and was thinking I might sit down in front of the TV. But traditionally, I've snacked in front of the TV, to the extent that it would feel odd not to have a little something while there. Like the experience wouldn't be complete without a bowl of Cereal or a chocolate bar or something.

But I'm not hungry, and I don't want to eat. Is there anything people recommend when they feel the urge to eat idly? I guess it'd be out of boredom, kind of, or just out of habit.

I almost in the same boat as you. I lost about 40 lbs and my pants are down to a 40 from a 44.

I too like to have a little snack at night and occasionally during the day. I'll also have a handful of peanuts or some other snack in the afternoon. My snack in the evening is usually a chocolate Pure Protein Bar.

Where we are a bit different is that I don't feel guilty. Why? Think about how much you ate and snacked pre-surgery and what you are taking in now - much less.

IMO, as long as you/we are continuing to lose weight, small snack(s) are not really a major problem.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
