I can't wait til tomorrow! I'm being banded about 8.30 in the morning (it's now 11.45 pm) and can't sleep so I thought I'd write a bit down this evening :-)

Wish me luck!

good luck... 3 days out I have not been hungry at all or thirsty. all I had today was a 100 cal Protein Shake, 4oz of egg drop Soup and 4oz of yogurt. That is probably 300 cal and I didn't even want that. yesterday I had less. I have been having trouble dringking enough Water as well.

I just got hit with the nausea feeling about an hour ago. Boy, does it suck. I have been doing well, minus the heartburn. I have had three spurts of the nausea but have never gotten sick. Do you feel the same?

good news on the nausia is it hit me in one 24 hour streatch. after that I have been good. The cause I beleive was gas and the solution is getting the gas out of your system (yes farting makes you feel better) also try chewable gasX pills they helped. The only other thing that made me feel better was not to get adventurouse with the food and stick to small portions (4oz). Now I feel great.

I went and bought some Pepto Bismol after work hoping that the pain would go away with the heartburn. Well the heartburn went away but I am left with this burning feeling that comes in spurts (only when I get up for sitting/ laying down). That pain hurts worse than the heartburn, so I have no clue. If this is still going on, I am going to call my doctor. I was doing great until today, very little pain (minus the heartburn, which I expected). But today has been horrible.

Any ideas on the cause of the burning sensation? It is right where my band is located. Maybe it is the healing, not really sure.

I was banded april 7th. Yesterday, I started having dizziness. Do you think its due to the amount of calories I'm consuming. I been consuming about 250 per day. The nurse said that it could be due to dehyrdation and for me to increase my Fluid intake. Are you dealing with dizziness?

I was very week for the first few days untill I got some Cals in me. I started drinking gatorade and that helped. Also egg drop Soup, runny cream of wheat, cotege cheese and other high Protein food. But yes getting the cals to 4-500 made me feel better and I am still losing a pound a day at this point.

I ate a few noodles last night (which was the first time I ate anything and the burning sensation doesnt happen as often. It seems to occur when I get up for sitting or laying down. But I can sit without it hurting. I am suppose to be on liquids until the 21st, then pureed foods for two weeks, then onto the real food. But I was willing to try anything. If this continues, I will call my doctor and see if this is normal or if I should go see him.

I'm experiencing the same things. Somewhat of a heartburn/chest discomfort, when I sit or lay down. It does seem to get a bit better each day.

Glad to hear that someone else can understand what I am feeling. Today it has happened a few times but that is about it.

I hope it ends soon

My procedure was on 4/8 and I was beginning to get frustrated by the lack of weight loss. Today, I went for a really good walk; but now I am not feeling well.

I have had the hiccups (which hurt like crazy), upset stomach (gas that requires a trip to the bathroom), and today nausea set in. The only thing that I have been able to eat is light yogurt.

After reading your posts, I am beginning to think that I am dehydrated. :smile2:

I go back to work tomorrow, and I am petrified!!!! Two others at work have already been through this, so I hope they are a plethora of information.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
