readytoloselbs 0 Posted April 4, 2008 Hi everyone, I had surgery today and have a bad cold. I took DayQuil (no alcohol, anihistaminefree, sugar free). Was this O.K. to take? I was reading some posts on what not to take for headache, and now I am worried? What else can I take for a cold? Thanks.
kbinaz 0 Posted April 4, 2008 I think you are fine- I was told I could take anything. The only thing you have to be careful about it Tylenol because it can be damaging to your stomach if you take to much but this is also the case for unbanded people. Don't stress, but if you still are worried, call your doctor.

NancyJ1960 0 Posted April 6, 2008 You are still a normal person. Just don't take aspirin or other blood thinning products right now. And if you cold persists use the liquid instead of capsules, just to be on the safe side.
hope2bhealthy 2 Posted April 7, 2008 The only thing you have to be careful about it Tylenol because it can be damaging to your stomach Actually, Tylenol is what we are supposed to take because it is NOT damaging to your stomach. Ibuprofen and NSAIDS like Aleve ARE damaging to your stomach, and should not be taken without your docs approval. Tylenol can be damaging to your LIVER if you take considerably more than the label says, but it doesn't hurt the stomach. 1 1 Loriamen and BlondePatriotInCDA reacted to this

I'd really like some links to some facts on this NSAID issue cuz it has me both worried and confused as a lot of people here have been given different advice. I read on the Allergan site that one should be very careful about taking NSAIDS but there was no info as to what damage it could cause to the band or pouch etc.?? Tylenol is considered an NSAID far as I know. I asked my surgeon if I could take Tylenol and he said "sure". I still would like more info to go on and we have to take something for mentrual cramps and aches and pains don't we? I know I do occasionally. If anyone else has some documented info I'd sure appreciate it :confused2:
Loriamen 3 Posted October 28, 2023 Tylenol is NOT an nsaid ! I had gastric sleeve yesterday and so much dangerous information out here! I’ve been told probably 100 times only tylenol by my Drs and nurses. 1 heycrystal2052 reacted to this
