Question about Band problems

Recommended Posts

Since I've been reading these boards, I am totally freaked out that I have done something to stretch my pouch, slip my band, flip my port, and anything else I can hear about. I was banded on 3/7/08. I asked my doctor about how I'll know if I did damage and they said there will be excruciating pain. But then I read here how many people have slips or stretched pouches and didn't know. I haven't had any excrutiating pain (except the first few days) and sometimes I can eat what I think is too much and sometimes I'm full after a few bites. Sometimes when I eat too much I just feel really full, no pain, no PB, no vomiting. Is this ok, or could I have done damage? I've not lost any weight this last week, so this is adding to my fears. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My first fill is not until 4/22.

Thanks!!

I wouldn't spend unnecessary time and energy on the 'what if's'. If you feel okay, don't stress!

ditto on kbnaz...listen to your doctor and what HE says. i was like you when i first started. but every doctor is different in the way he/she practices, and you just need to make sure you follow his orders to a T. and remember to breathe! its going to be ok... i am only a week out, and i already think this is the bes thing i have ever done.

You won't mess up your band if you follow your doctor's advice. Stay on

whatever diet your doctor told you to stay on until he/she advises you to move to the next stage. These problems come from throwing up often. (otherwise known as pb productive burp)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
