tmfritts 0 Posted May 31, 2008 Thanks Allison! Glad to hear everything went well with you. Did you stop itching? I have been told that the itching is from the anesthesia and it should go away! Everybody sounds great! I am 8 days out and actually put on something other than sweat pants!!! Yipee! (It's the small things in life that excite me!) Experimenting with pureed foods - all though it is kind of hard for me to figure out the difference from pureed and mushies!! Keep feeling better everyone! globally yours 0 Posted May 31, 2008 Do you think the itchies might be nerve endings trying to heal? Hope you can sleep tonight. Yes, there should be a law that says you can't sneeze or cough after surgery. Who do we see about that? LOL I'm going to bed Just really tired today. And blowing my nose like crazy. Di4AU 1 Posted May 31, 2008 Coughers and sneezers - hold a pillow on your stomach, it helps! As far as being afraid to eat, you'll get over that in about five days Seriously, you'll be amazed how good you feel in just a day or two.
globally yours 0 Posted May 31, 2008 It's a cold for sure. DH had it earlier in the week. I'm not as sore today, just miserable with this cold. Keep rubbing vicks on me which helps, and am taking Dimetapp. Today is a reception for my mom and stepdad. I might have to spend most of the time at her house rather than at the reception hall. Hey do you guys feel your port? The sorest spot on me is the left had side where the port is.
kamicola 1 Posted June 1, 2008 I'm back and on the other side now! It's amazing that all of us now have gone through it! I feel awesome, have no side effects, except a little sore on my arm/hand where my IV was... but that is more sore than my stomach! I have lost 7 pounds since surgery and feel just fantastic... my husband and parents are feeling good too! Mexico was an experience, but I would do it all over again if I had to! Hope all of you are doing well too! Kammi in Everett, WA

SydneyLouWho 0 Posted June 1, 2008 Yes, I can feel my port. It is a hard lump right now. It reminds me of when I was pregnant and could feel my son's foot kicking me. That is the spot that hurts the most. I also have a very full feeling where the band is. My "lapband" friend says that is normal and I will feel that very full feeling for about 7-10 days. My surgery was May 27th. Yesterday I drove an hour away to a wedding shower. It felt great to get away. By the time I got home I was exhausted and took a pain pill. Later all. globally yours 0 Posted June 1, 2008 I spent most of last night coughing horribly, so DH took me to Urgent Care. I have bronchitis. So now on liquid antibiotics, an inhaler, zrytec, cough medicine. The meds make me really sleepy. Anyway, good to know I'm on the way to recovery now. The bronchitis has been worse than the surgery!
kamicola 1 Posted June 1, 2008 Try consuming coconut oil (about a tablespoon) daily.... it cures everything under the sun... it should be part of anyone's regular diet. It is highly cleansing, so you will get loose bowels when you first start, but it is cleaning out toxins.... including viruses and bacterial issues.... just thought I would pass this on.... it works miracles! A coconut is the "tree of life" after all! Kammi in Everett, WA
Deb W 0 Posted June 1, 2008 Had mine May 23rd and I'm so happy with it. Still a little sore on the left side and can't bend over too well, but I'm still thrilled. Already as of 5/31, had lost 15 lbs. YooHoo
fujika 0 Posted June 2, 2008 Had my surgery on the 30th. No problems, except a little dry heaves. Dr. gave me some anti nausea meds and it works great! This loratab painkiller though is horrible, it tastes bad and I don't like sleeping allday. I tried plain tylenol (liquid) but it just didn't cut the pain. So I guess I sleep until more of this pain goes away! I'm on full liquids since the 30th and for 2 weeks then I'll move on to mushies. Even now, the liquids are better than the medifast! (more choices, and I add a little plain Protein Powder for nutrition) Don't know how much if any weight I've lost since surgery, I don't have a scale and I just haven't been able to walk down the hill to my mom's and use hers. Hopefully this week I can get down there and weigh myself! That's all for now, gotta get back to bed, after I walk up and down the hall!
