I would say that is a pretty steep bill myself. That is actually outrageous! I had 2 stents placed in August and my bill was over $40,000 to. I was really shocked. I hope you have insurance is all I can say!

Dr. Adams in Decatur, Alabama has a self-pay price of $11,600 which includes everything for 1 year. This includes the hospital portion and the anesthesiologist.

I'm self pay and paying $8K for Dr. Ortiz in Mexico. That includes 2 nights at a hotel and a ride from and back to the San Deigo airport. That doesn't include the plane ticket or fills. I will probably have my first fill there, but I'm looking at other options closer to home for long term fills.

I just got this bill from Medical City in Dallas and this does not include the surgens costs. $44,775.00

:omg:

2 units supply/implants $23,567.00 -I thought they just put in one lap-band, I must have 2.

Two separate Dr.'s told me that that band itself is a $3000.00 piece of equiptment. WHERE is the other $20,000.00 going???

That is a CRAZY bill. Are you sure you just had lapband surgery?? If I had a bill like that, I'd want to wake up with the Tummy Tuck and new set of perky D cups to boot!

Dr. Kirshenbaum - $9950.00 and it was awesome!

I paid cash in Los Angeles. $9000 to the hospital (outpatient) and $5600 to Dr. Paya. His bill includes all followup visits - FOREVER!

I would pay it again and again for all the great attention and, of course, weight loss. Dr. Paya does all his own fills and because he is a general surgeon as well, he was able to take out my gallbladder last week (insurance covered).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
