Jeen423 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Hey, Just banded! The sugar thing sounds like a critical point. The psychiatrist at my surgeon's office suggested (strongly!) that I get the book, "Potatoes not Prozac". I think it's about the carb/sugar addiction so many of us struggle with. I ordered it today. I'm getting the band next Thursday and I don't want to &*@% it up after all the time and money I have spent to get here. I'll stay away from sugar completely so I don't get on that roller coaster again! Yeah, I know - easier said than done! Wish me luck. Jeannie
donnabarney 0 Posted April 15, 2008 I would not drink Water or anything to get more food down. the band is a tool not a cure, and one must change their eating habbits to make this work. I don't mean to be this blunt, but we have to pick up and keep going. we did not gain all this weight in weeks, or months, and it takes a lot of will power to achieve our goals. try having a Soup before you eat, it works for me most of the time. P.S. I did fall off the program and had chips last night. I did not even eat these before the band, I could kick my self today, but am moving on. good luck with your fill, and remember its a tool, not a cure. Donna - I have never been a big chip eater - but I still occaissionally have maybe 10 - 15 chips - but i to fit them into my daily calorie budget - we still have to live life - that's why I say I eat healthy 98% of the time and allow for 2% treats - but again they are always budgeted and I 99.9% of the time stay within my 900-1200 calories for the day..
