P Nut 0 Posted April 1, 2008 I feel like I can take on the world and am sick of Jello/pudding and chicken Broth-scared to try anything as Jamba juice smoothie made me sick-what am I doing wrong? Confused as to whether or not Jello/Pudding is okay 4 days post op-but it was on the booklet my doc sent home. Also traveling to NY this coming week-will only be 1 week post surgery and not sure what in the world I will be able to eat. Staying with friends so I think that will help-has anyone gone to eggs/mashed potatoes/beans by the end of the first week or am I trying to rush things. Should I stay on Clear liquids longer. Doc can't get me in for follow up until 04/15/08 which is 2+ weeks after surgery date. Any suggestions?
jtorie 0 Posted April 1, 2008 you may still be quite swollen in the pouch or band area, rather than trying the more solid foods. Maybe try egg drop/flower Soup without the veggies for Protein, take some quick and easy Protein shakes I personally like Atkins advantage or EAS myoplex lite. or mix mashed potatoes with thin gravy or broth. Cream of wheat thinned with milk or melted butter. My doc has a restrictive diet of Clear Liquids for 6 weeks. I have been pulling my hair out, and have tried these suggestions with no problems. I was banded March 18. 08. Good Luck with your band! J
mmh498 0 Posted April 1, 2008 Hi-I just got banded on March 25th and am having a lot of trouble today with PB-all I have had is Protein Water and diet jello-and I am sliming up every bit. What is going on?
NancyJ1960 0 Posted April 1, 2008 you really do need to be very careful at this stage. add Protein Powder (whey or soy by EAS is great) to skim milk to maintain some nutrition or drink slim fasts, but you don't want any solid food at this time. good luck! mmh498 0 Posted April 1, 2008 Thanks, but I am not having any solid foods-that is why I am confused about this "stuck" feeling. When I am sliming up Protein Water, something is wrong.
hope2bhealthy 2 Posted April 2, 2008 if you are having trouble keeping down Water, you should definitely contact your doctor. this means that something in wrong. i would call him/her ASAP, and they will know what to do. good luck.
