Do I have to sip water my whole life?

Recommended Posts

When I work out hard or cut the grass on a hot summer day I usually drink a lot of Water at once about 12 oz over a minute or so with the band is this still possible?

I have a good fill with great restriction right now and I can drink Water just fine. I'm not taking the very small baby sips that are necessary if you have too much fill. As a matter of fact, I drank three sixteen ounce bottles of Water and a small bottle of juice today. I have always been a water drinker and think I always will be. I think you'll find it easier in time. You will be able to drink normal if you are not too tight. Good Luck!

By the way, I'm from Chicago too!

Sometimes I can - sometimes I cant... Depends on lots of things! For the most part, I can.

If you ve had a fill recently, just give it some time to "loosen up" and then you should be able to chug that Water down pretty quickly.

chicago,

If pollen bothers you (cutting grass scenario) you may have to sip, because it seems to cause me to have more tightness, or more mucuous. But, you may not have problem. I can pretty much chug Water as long as it is not real cold. I usually drink it at room temp.

My husband on the other hand, still has a problem with all liquids no matter the tightness of band(since our surgery in 2003) Everyone is different I guess

YES, don't panic about all the warnings of sipping...after you've been banded for a few months, you WILL BE ABLE to chug about 4-6 ounces of liquid on an empty stomach. I was used to drinking 3 quarts of water per day prior to lap band and I wondered if I would EVER stop sipping after band. I am 4 months post-op and can chug about 6 ounces of milk for Breakfast each day. The key to this is NOT DOING IT WITH food IN YOUR POUCH.....or else, PBing will occur

The only time I have to sip is cold stuff in the morning, if I want something cold and I try to chug it, my band says" hell no it wont go",lol and sometimes it will come back up, usually chocolate milk, but later on in the day I am fine I can drink normally.

I am 6 1/2 months out and I can't drink Water the way I used to. I was a guzzler and I think its what I miss the most since being banded. I find it hard to get my water in since I can't guzzle. Oh well, small price to pay for being over 1/2 way to goal! Its totally worth it to me!

I have no problem chugging Water at all. I drink about 80oz a day and there's times after working out that I'll chug about a half a bottle right off. MMMmmmmm water!

You'll be fine unless you're SUPER tight filled.

Good luck!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
