I've received 2 fills for a total of 6 cc. I'm almost 12 weeks out. My next fill is in 4 weeks. How about you?

I've had three fills. 9.2 cc in 14 cc APL band. Third fill really made a difference. Things I was able to eat easily before no longer go down so easily.

Surgery 1/15/08 had 3cc in a 10cc band from surgery. Then 2cc at 6 weeks out and 1cc a week later because I was feeling no restriction. I get my 3rd fill on April 10th. I am really tring to not drink with meals and it helps me stay full longer and get full quicker. I had an x-ray taken to see what the band looked like. I was surprised to see he left the port tubing so long. It makes a big U shaped loope then comes up and over in a smaller loop where the port is. I wonder why he did not cut the tubing so it lays straight. Has anyone else seen theirs? Seems the Fluid would go into a shorter straighter tube easier. I have only lost about 1 1/2#this month. I hope next fill speeds things up. Diane

Had my 3rd fill yesterday... Don't know the cc count, my doc doesn't give that out. I expressed my frustration with the elusive sweet spot and ask that he be a little more generous with the fill. I think he was, but only time will tell. I probably shouldn't complain, I do average a little over a pound a week, but feel I've done most of that without the help of my band.

1 fill at the 6 week mark, 3.5 in a 10 cc band. I had really good restriction for the first 2 weeks after the fill, and now I'm starting to have less restriction.

I'm due to go back in a few weeks for fill #2. Can't wait!

Good question to ask--I'm always curious where people find the right level of restriction and how long it takes them to get there.

I have a 5 cc band and had one 1.8 cc fill at 7 weeks out. I go for my second fill on April 19, and if I get there without having gnawed my arm off it'll be a miracle!

I've had 2 fills so far. 1st fill was 7 weeks out from surgery and 3.8 cc's. 2nd fill was 11 weeks out and was 3 cc's. I have a total of 6.8 cc's in a 9 cc Realize band. My restriction seems pretty good since I am eating small amounts (usually about 1/2 cup) and I am staying satisfied for 3 or more hours. No PB's or sliming yet. My biggest issue is snacking between meals cause I want to, not because I'm hungry. I've lost over 40 pounds though, so I guess occasional Snacks aren't damaging me too bad!

I was banded 12/17/07 and had my first fill of 2 c.c. on 1/29/08. I went back to the Dr. March 5 and saw his PA for an additional 1 c.c. She had trouble finding my port and said she found it after poking around inside looking for it. I haven't felt any different and feel like she missed the port. I don't know if the Doctor will be able to tell or not if I have 2 c.c. or 3 c.c. inside.... I go back to the Dr. April 15th and this time I'm only have the Doc see me! I'm looking forward to another fill because I've only lost 3 pounds since I went in last. I'm eating less and exercising but I'm just stuck at this plateau. I'm hoping it gets easier to lose weight. It's really S-L-O-W right now! But I'm not giving up!!! I'm seeing this through no matter how long it takes me! Hang in there everyone!!!

I had my second Fill yesterday. Initial fill was 3cc and they added a 4th cc yesterday. The nurse who did the fill said I should expect some of the inital 3cc to have evaporated out, but when she pulled it out, all 3ccs were still there. Now I am curious how much restriction I will feel with 4cc vs 3. I had some restriction before and have had several pb experiences, but I could still pretty much eat what I wanted.

Funny Story, the night before I went in for my fill I had a dream that I went it to a different office (same DR, just different office) and the scale that I had to weigh in on was tiny and I had to stand on one foot and try and balance myself to get an accurate reading. Then the nurse came in with the needle that looked just like a turkey baster. luckily I woke up before she stuck me with it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
