I am just wondering what kind of food people are eating out there. I have been struggling with what to be eating. Before surgery I never worried about what to eat, but that is also why I got over wait. Just looking for a little insight as to what everyone out there has been eating.

I eat normal, regular food. But instead of 3 servings at one sitting, I eat about half a serving now.

It's about choice, and I've chosen not to diet with the band, to let the band do it's job. Oh, don't get me wrong, I've made major lifestyle changes and gave up some bad stuff. There's no use in getting the band if I didn't change my behavior.

For me, it's eat what I can tolerate.

Average, well angelface some days are

grits for Breakfast

sandwich for lunch

veggies for supper

but some days are

scrambled egg

Soup

taco

while others are

nothing for Breakfast

salad for lunch

Pasta for dinner

I wish I could tell you even this past weeks menu...but one thing weird happens to me when I lose weight....my memory goes out the window. I tried to remember what I had yesterday and it killed me.

The brain uses only carbohydrates for fuel, can't use Protein for fuel...so when you cut back on carbs thru dieting or just eating less....the brain isn't as sharp...that's me right now.

Angelface, just follow your doctor's instructions and you can't go wrong. The band is a tool for weightloss and during the time of restriction...this is when a patient can modify their behavior...say of binging or eating way too much.

I still haven't licked overeating...it happens sometimes. But this is a process. It took 30 years to get this way it will take more than just a year or so to reverse my behavior.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
