Confessions....anyone else?

I am on a 3 week post-op liquid diet, I have....

(A) Took a lick of my daughters (she's 2) Peanut Butter & jelly sandwich

(:crying: Stole a (ok 3) peanut butter choc egg from my kids and sucked them and they just happened to melt causing me to swallow

© Took a chip (can you see what a bad parent I am?) from the defenseless kids and chewed it up - HEAVEN and spit.

I am bad....I am starving...am I the only one?

PS - has anyone noticed if you spell *P* *B* together it post as productive burp?? Had to correct my post - too funny

Ok, those Reese's eggs my kids got from evil family members for Easter did not just disappear....I ate them. Slowly...liquifying them and swallowing. I admit it.

Ahhhaaa I knew it....I am not the only one. And I can tell from the number of people looking at the post that there are others......perhaps to shy to tell all?

I have only chewed a couple of things I was not suppose to like a pretzel, meatloaf, and a cracker with chream cheese and salmon...all I spit out. I think only a few lurking calories got in me. End of week 2 all I want is my scrambled egg. I have to wait one more week.

In the first week I chewed a pickle next to the trash and spit it out. It was heaven!!! Crunch, crunch, crunch.

I have so stinking much money invested in this thing that I don't want to screw anything up.....I've been 100% faithful....for the first time in my life.

I've slipped a few times. Ate some bread today... will never do that again!!! I've hurt for the last 5 hours!!! We all slip, and we all will, the best thing we can do though is learn from the fall and get our "big" "happy" "fat" behinds up and start again

One thing to remember, until you have your fill, you are in the healing stages, and weight loss is secondary.

Hope I made you feel better.

people, people... 5 french fries, a few bites of stolen easter chocolate, a mouthful of pickes?! can't we come up with worse?! heh! :huh2:

for my own part... i was pretty good up until tonight. order me up some thai food: mixed apps (2 shrimp parcel wrappers, 2 veggie dumplings and 2 curry puffs) and a few tablespoons of coconut curry chicken and brown rice. um, i think i need another fill. oy.

now for the disclaimer: despite all that, my calorie count for the day = 1300ish.

Hilarious!!! I thought I was the only one that was FORCED to Celebrate Easter!!! Over Spring Break (about a week after surgery) we went to the movies & I discovered I could eat popcorn w/o a problem!!! OMG!!! It was wonderful! My worst attempt? Popeye's chicken...yes crust and all. I literally felt it going down & then right back up...scratchy and all! Boy did I learn!!! I think it took a little burn for me to get the idea.

O K....(hanging my head in shame) I was banded 3/20, and when the doctor said mushies...he doomed me! Since last Friday I have had 1/4 of a roll at O'Charles (basicly picked it apart in tiny pieces) and a cup of potato soup...heaven!! The seafood off a Subway seafood sub, (they put it in a little cup and I ate it for lunch and dinner) and the meat off a taco from Taco Bell. I tried to be sure my cheating exp. were soft foods but straying is straying.

OMG...I just found this thread and have been laughing for the last 5 minutes. I too had a Reese's Peanut Butter egg on Easter- it was given in a basket for my 2 year old son...I know...shameful! I since have been eating m&m's here and there but not everyday like I used to....and I certainly don't keep a stash at home anymore! I guess we are only human...

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
