BandedTam 0 Posted April 7, 2008 Marissa, thanks for the suggestion for the Protein drinks. I will have to give them a try. This morning, a friend of mine gave me a packet of wildberry passion from SmartForme.com. I'll let you know if it's any good once I try it. I think because it's fruit flavored I might like it better. I can't stand the thick consistency of Isopure.< /p> -Tam
slim-one-day 0 Posted April 7, 2008 For my two week pre-op diet, I was instructed to have a shake for Breakfast and lunch, and 4 oz of lean meat and all the veggies I want for dinner. And for Snacks, drink Water, eat popsicles, have Jello, and things of that nature. It wasn't too bad. Now, I'm on an all liquid diet. I drink Carnation Instant Breakfast (the blue box) and add skim milk. I also have to add soy Protein to get the right amount of protein in the day. It's only about 5 g of protein in the CIB. My surgeon's office said to aim for approximately 60 g of protein a day. For something other than CIB, I drink the Boost Glucose Control. I don't have to add milk to this shake or as much protein because there is already 16 g of protein in it. I go for my post-op appointment tomorrow. I can't wait to get on the scale and move to the next food stage!!!!!
readytoloselbs 0 Posted April 7, 2008 I am on Clear Liquids until Thursday and have not had a bowel movement yet. Like others have said, nothing is there :> I took some clear benefiber yesterday and still nothing. I agree with the others when they say don't focus on the scale. The scale says I lost six pounds but I have been taken off of my blood pressure medication which was a direutic so I know I am retaining Water. I know I am losing weight and inches and it will not show as much on the scale becaue of the water retention. I am happy that I see a loss and no gain like I usually would have seen prior to the band. As long as I lose or sustain, I am happy for that. It is so good that we can share our experiences with others that are going through the same thing!
sissyjean13 0 Posted April 12, 2008 I just had my lapband surgery on Thursday. I'm doing the 1oz clear fluids every 15 minutes. I get a lil blast of watery stool once in awhile. I've added Unjury Protein Drink so maybe it's the Protein? Then again I had apple juice in the hospital (diluted) and apple juice always did give me the squirts! My tummy is still bloated from the surgery, but I'm feeling good. No pain meds. Good luck! -Dawn (Minnesota)
