About a week, with modifications. Your port sight is sore for a while so gentleness is required. The standard positions won't work for a while.

I might be feeling kinda up for it now (9 days post-surgery) but I gotta tell ya, when my husband looked at me the other night and said, "Hey, I've never seen staples in somebody before. Cool!" it was a cold shower.

sundevil - that's hilarious, though maybe you don't think so.

i'm 5 days post op, and i'm thinking sex would be ok now, as long as i was on top. but i've felt really good since my surgery and don't have any real pain from my cuts. i think it just depends on how quickly you recover, and how much you want to have sex.

i was the one who started the last sex thread, and i was hearing numbers closer to a month, so it really just depends on the person. good luck.

Banded April3rd. I did it 5 days out. All was fine.....being very careful and slow with things. Then 2 nights ago he decided to try and put my legs in places I now know should not be for a while. I jerked up in great pain saying that was not gonna work....duh! I am so sore and tender in my port arrea that it isnt funny. Its scary actually. Needless to say the "shop" has closed down till my belly feels better. My advice to all is to be really slow in your movements.

Ew.

Anyway... How about: when I get married!

So funny! (and good girl!)

I'm 12 days out, and he hasn't DARED (he's afraid I'll bite his head off, I think). My guess is in the next day or so, though.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
