boricua61 0 Posted March 30, 2008 I was banded 5 days ago, still in a little pain, but doing ok. I've continued to drink the Protein Shakes I was drinking before surgery and seldom find myself hungry now. Sometimes I drink something because I have to. Has this happened to anybody else? Another thing, I think I've had a sweatshirt on since I got home from the hospital and that is so unlike me. Thanks

Your portsite will most likely hurt/discomfort for about 2-3 weeks (it's been 8 months for me so I can give you exacts as I really don't remember) I found that I had to wear dresses or loose waisted pants otherwise my port hurt - It's above my wasit by 3 or 4 inches. I was banded in July and live in the Desert - so can't relate to sweat shirts but can tell you this winter i was colder than I use to be - I don't have as much insullation that I use to - to keep me warm.. This is the best site for support and info - read read read. Welcome to bandland !!!
josephine 1 Posted March 30, 2008 Boricua61, My first month I lost 33 lbs and that included my 5 day pre op liquids. I wasn't hungry for anything. My husband would yell at me because he would see me eat 2 spoonfuls of a cream Soup and i was finished. Certainly get in the habit of drinking your fluids. This is very important. You hunger will come but maybe you have already trained your mind that you will be eating a lot less and you are on the road to success. Good Luck Josephine
