Inches lost but little weight

Recommended Posts

Hi you all,

I was wondering if there were others out there that have lost only a little weight but a lot in inches. I was upset about not losing a lot of weight in my first month but then I remeassured my self and so that I did drop many inches. Am I the only one?

since August, i've lost about 10-15 pounds, but many many many inches... im thinking 8 off my waist (pre tummy tuck), 6-7 off my hips, thighs, bust, etc about 3-4 each.

there are days i'd take the inches off before the weight cause the inches are more noticeable. the weight is 'just a number'...

you're doing great - dont sweat it. :cursing:

It happens. Think of it as the body equaling out. I've lost entire sizes with no change on the scale. (Hence my part of my disdain for them). Eventually things will align once again.

Its happened to me at times, and recently, no definite change on the scales - I'm at goal and only fluctuate - so I'm just at the low end of my normal 3lb if that makes sense, but suddenly, my boobs have gone, lol! My bras are all looking weird under my clothes because they're too big, the cups are denting - nice look, NOT. My jeans are all falling down too.

At one time though, I didn in fact go down a whole dress size with no change in weight.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
