I've been thinking about you all day Lisa...and trying to put myself in your position but I just don't think I really understand everything you've gone through. I just hate the idea of you without a band...sure, your results haven't probably been what you expected by now (mine sure aren't and I have a port and no teethmark scar, even). But you still are a success in my book, and from everyone else's comments here, in their's too. I just think if you can get over this rough patch you'll be see the silver lining. You still have a band that restricts you. You aren't gaining weight back. You have some control over your eating. You fit into smaller clothes and get new attention from strangers. You've proven to yourself- and us- how strong you can be when you need to be. I wonder if you've had to be so strong for so long that it's time to take some time to grieve and rest and be sad. I would think it would be perfectly normal at this point.

You'll get through this and your story will inspire those who are just starting out, and those of us who have ports that need moving, tubing that leaks, or a band that is tough to adjust.

I hope you've seen by this thread that you are a very well supported friend to a lot of pretty nice folks.

Lisa, I'm very sorry about your band. I didn't know about the several years wait for another port. That has to be tough on you. But, try not to give up yet. Just give it a little more time (easy for ME to say) as a solution may surface. Peace.

Theresa, I'm so sorry, but since this was originally Bubbame and my idea, I'm Miss April, I'm an April baby, can I please, please have April. I'll throw a big hissy fit, if you don't let me be Miss April? I already bought my yellow rainboots and big yellow umbrella for my pose, boy oh boy I'm really excited.... But we will have to market this oversees, so husband's friends won't see it, wouldn't that be horrible... Hey let me tell you all a funny story, My best friend and I used to tan in her back yard, and because there is a huge great big field next to her house sometimes we would lay out topless, we thought we had privacy (about 8 Years ago, before gravity took over) Well anyways, what we didn't know is that across that fields were some homes that apparently if you had binoculars you could see us quite well. Well one of hubbys friends lived in one of those homes and one day at a BBQ out there, he was one of the guests well when all the guys pulled out their binoculars to look at the girls sunning, he got excited and wanted to look at the girls those boys talked about all the time. boy oh boy ws he surprised one of those girls was me, boy was he red in the face... Well that was the last day that I ever tanned topless, Funny thing is that if that had been someone else he would have been perfectly content to keep looking.... I think that's a riot, every now and then I remind him and he doesn't like that his buddys got to see me in that special way. No but anyways, I'm Miss April, so lets set a date---what works for you all, can we crash at your house Delarla??? Let me know.

OK - So Lisa came up with the name Lapband Lovelies! Which is great . We could also maybe do Banded Babes 2007(of course we would have to vote on it). There will be no way to get it all together for 2006-which starts to sell in November. Than we can have a forward about the band in hopes to educate others of this amazing tool. The public will want to purchase the calendar year after year to see us shrinking away!! We can have inamed or the new company sponsor the start up cost because of the write up in the front promoting their product(print advertising can cost upwards of $10,000.+) Not to mention its a print ad that will be avaiable 275 days a year 24/7 for that consumer to constantly see. We can even have the companies LOGO at the bottom of each month(extra advertising)! HOWS THAT SOUND EVERYONE?? Were gonna be RICH & ports coming out our ears!!!

PS Did I mention I have 14 yrs of marketing experience?

I volunteer to travel to see Scotty who I hope will market it in the UK for us.

First, I almost peed my pants thinking of tinsel draped across Penni's nipples!

But Megan, your response really pulled me through. The thought of going through what Ms. February did and having to face the grieving process of losing my band was enough to snap me into reality. I have a healthy band today that should be enough. Yes, I am maintaining an ENORMOUS amount of weight loss. 70 pounds isn't anything to scoff about, that's for sure. And I've been binge eating at night, but last night I curbed it just a tiny bit. I still ate too much and got too full, but I stopped at one candy bar and a bowl of fruit. And this morning I walked to the park, which is normally full of people and dogs - but today I was alone due to wind and rain so I felt extra energized, then I lifted weights at home before work.

I am more than thankful for my friendships at LBT, and I feel fortunate that only real people support me. Honestly, I don't have the time or desire for fluff in my friendships, so all ugly things that bring only real women forward are worth it to me. Megan, I hope I can return my shoulder when you need it. Thanks for starting this thread and for ending my dilemma. Now we can move on to the fun part.

I asked hubby if he'd mind me posing nude. He never takes me seriously, but last night he gave me a very strange look (I can't even explain it since I've never seen that look before.) He asked, "Would you let ME pose nude?" I said "YES, for money I sure would!"

But he never responded. But the whole idea of marketing it in the UK is very appealing. Besides, other countries find fluffy women attractive, while the US treats us like losers!

I'm a little jealous that I didn't think of the yellow umbrella and rain boots though. I guess I'll wear my chaps and boots. Maybe some leather braided around my upper arms and some finger gloves with red hooker nails!

Well, this is great, by then I will have all my plastic surgery, and hell I'm posing totally nude, just the yellow rainboots for this girl, do you think makeup cane hide the tt scar??? I say Christiana nows what she is talking about, we will let her handle all the nitty gritty, just tell me when and where I have to show up to pose, I will have to hire a crew to come with me, you know, a makeup artist, hair person, personal assistant to assist me while I do my photo shoot, this is fabulous!!!!

P.S. Since April is the diamond month, maybe we can cover my whole entire body in nothing but diamond studs, well fake diamond studs (remember Britney Spears???) It will take lots of them, but it will be worth it, okay, I like this idea better than the yellow rain boots. I'm on board.

I'm an April baby too, but since Estela absolutely insists on wearing those rain boots, I'll take October. Since I'm in the Midwest, I can pose behind a giant pumpkin and all you'll see will be my (thinner) wrists and ankles. And a big pointy black hat.
