Breast Surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi Knockouts!

It may seem premature, as I've only lost 30 lbs., but my body is changing so much even at 1/3 toward goal. I'm lucky that I won't need major reconstruction when I hit goal. I salute and admire all the bandsters who have endured plastics to be the best they can be. As much as I don't want to endure it, I can't deny that I'll require a breast reduction/lift when I reach goal. Does anyone have experience with this procedure or think they will eventually require it?

I could really use a lift, well I needed on prior to losing weight!

Not sure if I will or not though. I probably will, but it will depend on factors such as when we can afford it and when I can afford the time for recovery, I think maybe towards the end of 2009.

I've had a few consults, the basic advice has been I'd get great improvement but my major worry, which is the flaccid, stretchmarked skin on the top of my breasts, wont be totally fixed without an implant to fill out the skin, giving me huge breasts again, which I very definitely dont want.

But with boobs, bras work miracles. There's so many good things on the market now, any bra with that side and under padding (quite thick) pushes em together and gives me cleavage I can show off. Any regular bra just kind of pushes them up and they just sort of "puddle" and dont look very attractive. I even have these swimsuit shapers that make them look really good in a bikini top.

So I'm kind of meh, can I be bothered with a lift? But in the scheme of things, for us, its not a whole lot of money so maybe I will.

I have to look at it in sort of a petty way. Those of us who are single, probably are going to have the surgery, maybe faster than those in a relationship. I could be wrong though. I hope I don't need it as I can't afford it...

Lol that's an interesting way to look at it, and in some cases that very well may be the case.

I actually had a breast reduction about 6 years ago because at 19 I was HUGE. In Canada things are a bit different but medical paid for it because it was considered medically necessary with the strain to my body. Perhaps there may be something that your insurance would cover? Whether it be due to rashes, back strain, anything? Might not hurt investigating when the time comes...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
