Looking for Space Coast Bandsters

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 12/17, by Dr. Fusco. No nausea, no vomiting, gas not bad. Very happy with my care.

My surgery was Dec 17. No issues at all post op, only lost 16 pounds so far. My first fill will be Jan. 16. Have been exercising for the first time in my life. I unfortunately got an infection in my port site, Dr thinks it is from a stitch inside working its way out. Very sore and little drainage coming from it. Was told to use peroxide on it three x a day. Looking better now. I am very discouraged with weight loss. I was one of those junk food junkies and a wine and beer drinker and have a big sweet tooth. Have done a complete 180 and can't imagine how the weight is not falling off. Hope the fill makes a difference even though I have followed diet to a T and not overdone eating at all.

Hi,

I'm from Titusville and was banded on 12/28/12. I was banded on the West Coast but need support because I don't think my fill is working. I am not getting that full feeling like I did last month. I had my fill Feb 6th and I'm thinking I should call my surgeon. Any advice?

I'm not in your age group but had my surgery done on the west coast. I'm going to have "cruise to lose" out of Pt Canaveral. If interested let me know.

What is cruise to loose?

A cruise to lose is a special group cruise of WLS people who will join and travel on a cruise together with a couple of special guests. One of the guests is a personal trainer who lost 80 lbs herself and has kept it off. There will be food available on this cruise that may help you lose weight, what you eat however is up to you.

I was banded in St Petersburg with Dr Rehnke. I could have been banded by Dr Fusco in Melbourne but he wanted $3800.00 cash upfront and Dr Rehnke accepted my insurance without a problem. I love my surgeon and don't mind traveling to St Petersburg.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
