Port Sites....are they ugly ?

Recommended Posts

I don't have a huge belly either, but he put it in the most perfect spot. I can't see it, feel or or anything. Tonight I put my faire bodice on and laced it up TIGHT and it didn't hurt at all. I was so excited. I'm starting to wonder if he didn't put a low profile port in me because I actually asked for one and he said he'd see how it looked when he got in there, but I never asked him after that, so maybe I'll ask him again. When I push on the port site I can barely feel it.. I'm surprised the fill center lady actually found it to stick me.

NO, you can't see mine at all or feel it. But my dr. did put a smaller port in when I had revision surgery in November 07. The fill dr always has a problem finding it unless he/she is very experienced.

Where I was banded, we were able to select whether we wanted a regular port or a low-profile port - however, the low profile port was about $1000 more (if I'm remembering correctly).

Hi,

I have had the band a LONG time and i don't have a problem, i do tend to fiddle with it which i wouldn't recommend cause i did flip it over once lmao that was funny the doctor was trying to stick the needle in and it would go cause i had flipped it right over. It did flip itself back though!

Anyways, the port doesnt stick out really the only way you can see it is when i am litterally bending over backwards and then it stick out a little, my last bf didnt even know it was there until he felt it.

And it doesnt cause problems with sex either, unless you do something i dont know about.

I have mine on the left side of my belly button and i think its good there because the skin isnt as sensitive for when they jab you for an adjustment.

Yep my port definately sticks out, it is on my slimmest part of me the waist, but i suppose none see it. i would rather be getting slim with a bump, rather than being one big big bump.

Bel, in 7 years, how many times have you had fills? Do you ever reach a spot where it's "just perfect" and you maintain? Just wondering!

You can't see my port but you can feel it. It does get sensitive with certain sexual positions. But keep in mind there are at least 3 - 5 common port placement sites, and which you have will have a lot to do with it.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
