Renee - they have ring guards that you can have put on a ring to temporarily change the size of it and it can be adjusted to keep making your ring work size-wise for you until you get to your goal and can have it sized and the permanent size settled. Good luck. I also have a couple loose rings and it feels great.

Hi!

Finally I have one to share. I put on my jeans on Monday. They are stretch jeans. But, when I put them on, they weren't the breath in and squish yourself until they zip!

YEAH!

I went out to dinner tonight with my daughter and my best friend.......

I was sooooooooooooooooooooo proud of myself....

I didn't drink with my meal....huge deal for a diet coke guzzler like my *former* self....

I ordered a bowl of potato cheese Soup (I'm still on mushies).....ate a little less than half of it....ignored the giant slab of corn bread (Marie Callendars)....brought it home to hubby.....and still have leftover Soup for lunch tomorrow....

Had a GREAT visit with my two favorite women in the world........they both ate regular meals and as we were leaving my BF said..."Geez, now you make me feel like a pig...."

It feels good to know that I CAN DO THIS, I TRULY CAN!

I put the loungewear on that I wore to the hospital yesterday. Yup it was pretty snug the surgery day, today it was falling off me!

Harley! You CAN absolutely do this. You just showed us you can. How fabulous that must feel!

Jen - How cool is that! I can't wait until something that used to be snug is falling off me! Congrats!

congrats, harley! "downgrading" from morbid to severe is one of my mini goals, too.

today's nsv: i started putting aside several big black sweaters and other winter clothes that are too loose. i figure (hope) that they'll be of no use to me by next winter. can't wait to drop them off at the goodwill/salvation army! in other news, i caught myself crossing my legs the other day. i haven't been able to do that comfortably in a year or two. yay me.

YEAH to crossed legs......that's one of the things I really look forward to as well.....still not completely comfortable for me, but I can do it!

I always feel like some sort of a lumberjack when I wear a dress because I can't cross my legs like a dainty lady!

Congrats Harley, Jen, Hungry, those are great NSV.

I had one today. My husband is a pretty big guy, but for the last few years I've weighed more than him...so when I would put his shirts on, they would be kinda snug. Well today I put one on and it fit be like a gown, it hung off my body and not snug to it.

Oh ya! I can kind of cross my legs too! My tight scrubs are now loose and comfy! I can't wait to get into my other scrubs that are too small. ss

Thanks for the info! I have never seen that before. Any idea where I can get those?

I think about any jewelry store could do it, I know I've had jewelry work done at Jared's the Gallery of Jewelers and they are in lots of cities. I didn't want to just put a ring on a necklace but still enjoy wearing it as a ring but until I got this, I'd definitely put my wedding/engagement ring on a pendant chain.

This is a different kind of NSV -- I got out one of my pretty spring/summer dresses to wear to church this a.m. because I know I won't be able to wear this size again soon. I have been avoiding wearing dresses because I just didn't feel pretty due to my weight so I splurged yesterday and got a manicure and pedicure, got my nails done in a pretty hot pink and I'm stepping out in style this morning holding my head high. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

I saw my PCP yesterday and said I'm eating healthy and exercising much more than ever and asked if she didn't think I could give up the Cholesterol medicine and she said YES! let's take a baseline blood check today and I'll see you in three months. Yea!

P.S. Plus she is thrilled with my 25 lbs loss progress - I'm her first patient to ever have lap band surgery so she took alot of time to ask me questions to learn about the process and even made herself a note to go and do some research to get more up to speed on it. Yea!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
