wannadancesoon 0 Posted March 28, 2008 I'm not in pain, I'm just not sleepy!! I was banded on the 25th of March, same day went home and took little cat naps, well that would explain why no sleep the first night, second day, just one little nap during the day and couldn't get to sleep that night, yesterday, NO NAP, and still couldn't get to sleep last night. During the days I'm not tired where I feel like I need to go to bed, I might relax/rest in front of the TV and then get back up again and do things. Can anyone explain maybe why this is the way it is, or has anyone else experienced this and if so I can live with it being the norm. I took a week off from work just so I would be totally rested before going back and I'm afraid that I won't be rested enough to return back to work, make sense???? any suggestions???? Wheetsin 714 Posted March 28, 2008 Suggestion - call your surgeon. S/he may be able to offer some insight, and/or recommend a course of action.
angelface 1 Posted March 28, 2008 That happened last time I had surgery (not lapband surgery). I was up night after night - wide awake like there was a bright light bulb on in my head. I wonder if it has something to do with the anasthesia. Finally, my dr. prescribed ambien. It was like a miracle for me. After about 2 weeks of barely sleeping, I was able to get some sleep. It was easy to stop taking the ambien too.

wannadancesoon 0 Posted March 28, 2008 Thanks to you three so much, my next move was to call the doctor, but, I'm going to give it a couple more days, I have tried the pain meds and they didn't knock me out like I was hoping, I only tried the pain not the nausau med, my daughter suggested to put the gel on my wrist tonight and try it, I hate to waste the gel for that purpose, but if it will help me to fall asleep and stay asleep it will be worth it. what about over the counter med's, some of them come in really small tablets, has anyone tried them???
