What are you Co-Morbidities (tricare and other insurance)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Tricare wants at least 1-2 Co-morbities before they will approve. Im wondering what everyone used?? I am really actually pretty healthy besides being fat, no high blood pressure, diabeties, etc. So im wondering what the heck i can use. Because without at least one NO way is tricare going to approve me even though my BMI is 40.

thanks

You will need a complete physical (usually) to submit, and if you have any your doctor should note them then. It's entirely possible to have co-morbidities while thinking you're perfectly healthy. I didn't have any known ones at the time, but come to find out there were some things going on that could have been documented (fortunately I didn't need to have any anyway). Schedule a physical and mention any pain, no matter how insignificant you think it is, any sensations, etc.

I didn't have to have any, but I have talked to a few people (on here) that said they told their Dr. they had back pain, joint pain, shortness of breath (hell, I guess I do have that one :-) then of course, the normal ones like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, sleep apnea, etc.

Hopefully you get some more responses.

I was rejected by BC/BS the first time the doctor's office submitted the paperwork even though I have diabetes, high BP and sleep apnea with 100 lbs to lose! This process has taken an entire year but it's finally been approved. I hope you have success!

I actually had to fill out a health questionaire at my first meeting with my doctor. Based on that and the tests he completed prior to requesting insurance approval, I actually had more health problems than even I was aware of. Even though my BMI was over 40 and I didn't really need to have any other health issues, I did find out I had high blood pressure, gerd, mild sleep apnea, and arthritis (according to my doctor...even though I feel no pain!) Just have all the tests and blood work done as your doctor requests and let them work with the insurance company to get the approval. And don't forget, even if you are denied once, you have rights and you can appeal the first decision. My doctor actually had someone in the office that worked with each insurance company and was our in between person so we didn't have to do much with insurance. It was nice, but I know not everyone has that option. Just don't ever give up!

Actually your doctor will list what your co-morbidities are. I'm sure I will have no problems getting approved. I have high blood pressure, high cholestoral (extremely high), sleep apnea (on a CPAP machine), plantar fascitis in both feet, back, joint and knee pain, shortness of breath, plus a history of heart disease in my family. I'm also testing on the verg of being diabetic.

I have joint pain in the knee and recent HBP. If you are double your ideal weight 200% with tricare, you will need no co-morbidities. Only those who are 100lbs overweight will need 1-2 co-morbidities.

I have high blood sugar.....I think that depression was one of the co-morbidities also, not entirely sure though.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
