Thanks for seeing it guys, cause I still can't really. That frustrates the hell out of me. Not seeing the weight loss.

I have lost 22 pounds! nothing is loose on me so I wont bother post a picture. I still have a long way to go before I see any visible effects. I am still wearing the same clothes!! I was wearing pants size 22w while weighing 296LBS, I currentyl weigh 274LBS and I am still wearing the same pants - they are not even loose at all - not even extra comfortable... they are exactly the same..... so I wonder where the 22 pounds came from!!!

I believe my weight crept up on me because I was able to maintain the same wardrobe through time, I can still fit in some of the stuff I wore when I was 250LBS!!

I've been so reluctant to post pictures on here. I have no idea how to post a picture on here. lol. So if there's nothing, I apologize. BUT, if all has gone well....the first picture was my Rockstar Debut in NYC back in July 2006 and the second one was taken two nights ago. My family had been anxious to see pictures of me and wanted me to compare. I didn't realize there was much of a difference, but seeing the side by side, I can see the improvements. Woo Hoo. This is exactly what I needed as I haven't noticed the scale moving in a few weeks and I am scheduled for a check-up next week. I try not to dwell on the scale, but I can't help it. I'm feeling better and that is by far more important than the number on the scale.:Angel_anim:

What day is your visit, I am going in on July 2 at 9:30am. And I need a fill. The scale hasn't moved much for me either.

You look great too!

Thanks very much, Chrisann. I'm going in on the 2nd too! But not until 1:40pm. I haven't had a fill since probably late Feb/early March. I don't know what level I'm at...something like 7cc. I still have occasional PB episodes so I'm reluctant to get a fill. Like I said, I try not to focus so much on the number but I'd gotten used to losing the 1-2 pounds a week. But I have gone out more lately and not made the best food choices and I haven't been drinking as much Water as I should. So I really can't be TOO disappointed. I choose to believe it's the fact that muscle weighs more than fat and the weights I've incorporated in my workout are paying off. heeehee. We'll see next week. How are things going with you?

I am at 6cc, but can eat in the AM now, so want a fill. Its not the scale I am focusing on either, its how much I am able to eat. Still making good food choices, but eating more than I should be.

I make AM appts because they see you pretty much on time. When I make the middle afternoon ones, I am always there for a while and wind up missing a few hours of work. With the AM appts, I get to work around 10am.

When I have been hungry after eating a meal, I have been eating fruit. I don't know if that is good or not but I am usually satisfied after that.

Thought I would throw in a recent pic. From vacation...My 6 month banniversary is tomorrow. Thought I'd be down a little more than I am, but still trudging along. Go for another fill on Tuesday, that should help some!

Oh my goodness! I just realized that tomorrow is my 6 month anniversary too! How quickly time has passed! Looking good NukeChik! I just got another fill last week and I think it's too much. Just started back on regular foods today and I've had a TERRIBLE time. Going to give it a week to see if I can adjust though.

I forgot to take a picture this weekend for my 6th month bandiversary. I know that I am down to a size 20 from a 24 in pants, so that is better than a picture in my mind....

You guys have been so brave to post your progress pics as you've gone along, and I've finally worked up the courage to do the same. The pic with the solid green shirt was taken the day before surgery at 259 lbs. The lavender shirt was in early April at 230. And the one of me with my boyfriend was taken last week at 209.

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

We have to remember that everyone moves at their own pace. For some it may be harder to adjust, people may have other factors at play that feed into the unhealthy relationship with food e.g. eating disorders, trauma. I'd hope those who you are referring to address this outside of this forum, with a professional.

This is a place to feel safe to vent, seek advice, hopefully without judgement.

Compassion goes a long way :)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
