Hello,

I am new and not yet banded! I have one more month to see my physician and then I get to go back to the surgeon and submit to insurance. I am 29, married, 2 young boys. I think this is an oppurtunity to change my life for myself, but also for my kids!

I am terrified and excited! :confused2: Can I get some feed back from anyone? Good back or indifferent? How did it go for you? Do you love it? Regret it? Struggle with it? Work out regularly? How was your 2 weeks pre/post op? Any stories, feedback or ideas anyone would like to share would be welcome!!

Thank you

Laura

hi Laura

welcome to LBT.

the band is one of the best things i've done for myself. its a wonderful tool, but will require work (eating right and working out for optimal loss).

the pre/post op diets were not horrible, but not the best thing. my suggestion is follow your doctor's guidance, not here for what you should be eating/drinking ... every doctor is different.

best of luck to you!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
