Has anyone ever had a PBing incident at a resturant?

My worst public PB was a very violent episode that hit me really fast. DH & I were in Dallas at a conference, and afterward, we were having dinner in the hotel restaurant. I ordered some kind of chicken. We were talking with some new aquaintences, and I was, I thought, taking my time and chewing well, but I guess I wasn't, because all of a sudden, I was stuck as hell, and the pressure was building like a volcano. There was no restroom in the restaurant, so I had to literally RUN through the restaurant, and across the hotel lobby to the nearest bathroom, and when I vomited, it was so violent that my eyes were all bloodshot, and it looked like I'd been crying. It was AWFUL. At least there was no one else in the bathroom, and I was able to put myself back together a bit before returning to the table.

I've posted this before so I'll be brief. I've PB shoulder to shoulder with a stranger on a crowded flight. That was nice.

Months ago I had one bad PB in a chinese restaurant in chinatown, followed by 2 more sliming incidents (one on the street!!!!) and one in the garbage can at starbucks - there was a line for the bathroom. It is the worst! BUT to answer your question I have pbed at a restaurant many times but I always have notice, recognize the signs and can get to the bathroom in time.

Been there done that but thank goodness I always made it to the restroom!

I have come up with a theory on sliming! When we first eat, since our pouches are so far up our body produces alot of saliva because it thinks it needs to to digest and get down what we are eating. It's so thick and there is so much of it it doesn't want to let the food though. The food sits on top of it and won't let it go down. I get it all up and I can eat fine from then on out. Don't know what everyone else's experience with it is but that's my thinking.

Happy Friday!!!:)

Up until a few days ago I was feeling all smug about being able to eat breads, while most have said they couldn't. Well... lo and behold.. a trip to Black Eyed Pea sure fixed THAT. They usually bring rolls and cornbread before the meal and I was munching away on a roll. About the 3rd bite, and that burning pain hit in my chest. I barely made it to the bathroom! Ouch! No more bread for me!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
