Hello everyone, thanks for your words and sharing. I am 10 weeks post op and am quite confused on a few things! I went in after 6 weeks and got my first adj. They put in 1.5 ccs, then two weeks later, they put in another .2 ccs and I spit up almost at every meal no matter how much I chewed or what I ate...so this week, they took those last .2 ccs back out and now, I have nothing stuck at all, but am hungry as a horse....what is up with that? I feel like I have no restriction andthey only took out .2 ccs. I dont get it...I am choosing bad, because I have been so restricted, that is my responsibility, but not having any restriction to my appetite, nor how much I can wolf down...that is not good. I have lost 28 lbs....but fear that this is going to be just like all my other diets...yo yo! At 10 weeks out, what should I be doing, should I have more put back in ? I need some food tips, like what should I be eating, etc. thanks for any help!

After you "spit up" after every meal, did you at any point go on liquids for 24 hours or so after to allow the swelling to go down?

I ask this because, every time we PB, it is a small trauma to the stomach, and it can cause swelling around the band site. Swelling makes the band tighter, resulting in more PB's. Usually 24 hours or so on liquids is enough time to allow the swelling to go down, and when we try to eat the next time, there is just the usual restriction, not the usual plus swelling making us extra tight.

Perhaps, if you are still hungry after eating good solid food, are exercising an not losing weight you could go back to your fill provider for a 0.1 cc fill?

I was banded 4/30/08. Lost 13lbs. Got 4cc in band-so Dr. Hart(atlanta) says & I feel nothing. Went back gained 3lbs. He said come back in 2 weeks...wow.

Why did I spend 21,000.

Dont feel full ever.

Hugs to all

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
