I am one week post op. I also used Dr. Hollis at True Results. Everything was great. I used insurance too. I am not sure about if fills are covered. I guess I need to find that out.

I am 1 week post op too, from Dr. Hollis. Have u returned back to work yet? How are you feeling?

I am back at work. I'm doing great...I guess. Lol. I don't know any difference. I have been going on the website lapband.com and recording my.moods, journaling, what I eat and I seem to be on target. As of today I have lost 22 lbs. Since Feb.27 (preop diet).

I am having my band done next week...4/26...with Dr. Chris Riley who is with True Results. He did my EGD and I really liked him...so far I have really liked the True Results group--except they are tend to wait till the last minute to let you know things--such as when your surgery is actually scheduled (I have no idea when to show up for mine--when I call I'm told that the surgerical nurse will call me the Friday before). Their office, which is near Reliant Stadium, in the hospital district, is kinda tricky to find, but so far everyone has been really nice and they don't make me feel "bad" for being overweight. Good luck on your journey.

I went through True Results in Houston and settled on Dr. Wilkenfeld who is much closer to where I live. The cost of the surgery was $9,500 with free fills for a year. After the first year unfills are free at Dr. Wilkenfeld's office and only $75 for a fill under fluoroscopy. I ended up having a hiatal hernia and my insurance covered that portion so I was just out of pocket $5500. True Results is really good about finding ways to make it easier for you financially. If I had gone straight to the surgeons office they couldn't have offered me the same payment plan...etc.

I use True Results in Houston also. I am really pleased. My fill was super quick an easy. She gave me all the time I needed to ask my questions. This is going to be great!

How many times have you actually seen Dr. Riley? I'm going for my second fill on Thursday and have only seen him when I got my EGD. not very good follow up from my mentor either.

I saw him at my pre-op visit & on the day of surgery. Haven't seen him since. I've only seen the nurse practitioners for my fills. A different one each time. 2 I liked, 1 I strongly disliked. I have waited up to 2 hours after my appt time to get seen for my fill, major con. But a pro is they are aggressive with fills so hopefully I can get to the green zone soon.

I saw Dr. RIley the day of my EGD and very quickly before my surgery in April. WHen I go in I see only the nurse practioners...one I really like and the other not so much. I guess we only get to see the actual dr when he is doing a procedure.

I agree...the wait time is way too long. I am a teacher so I am not able to go for my appointment until Thursday afternoons (which is the ONLY day they work late). I try to get an appointment as close to 3:30 as I can because I really don't want to go through the Galleria/610 traffic as I try to get back to Katy.

Do not use Bay Choice for your LB procedure. Although Dr Hollis is a wonderful doctor, the NP will make your life a living hell. The disorganization by her to the point of causing me trouble at work due to inefficiencies from paperwork is a common theme here. Just browse the internet. Her name is Beth and she has a reputation that is beyond unsatisfactory. I have absolutely no idea how she remains employed.

Save your sanity. I am back at the TR surgery center, where I am now very satisfied.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
