Dee I also have MS and a few days ago got my surgery date. When I approached my family doc about weight-loss surgery, he told me both he and I needed my neuro to sign off saying it was okay for me to have surgery. My neuro said i *could* have a flare but then again I probably won't. He pretty much briefed me on the possible complications but was all for me doing whatever will make me feel better. Talk to you neuro and see what he/she has to say. I'm getting banded on April 28th. What convinced me to go with the band instead of bypass was the malabsorption issues with bypass. Good luck!
